Ranju Darshana has filed her candidacy from the National Independent Party (NISP) in Kathmandu-1.
Talking to Kantipur after registering her candidacy, she said, 'This is a normal process that happens after becoming a woman. This is not new. Even after having a child, our team will be with her.' According to her, she is pregnant with an 8-and-a-half-month-old baby. She said that she is still in regular contact and consultation with her doctor.
Although her name was previously on the party's proportional list, she finally decided to contest directly after consulting with the party.
Earlier, she had contested the election for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City in 2074 BS. But she was defeated by Bidya Sundar Shakya.
