According to SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, he was released on bail today after taking a statement as per the procedure.
Prasai had made public a video claiming that the Nepali Congress' special general convention party had paid Rs 520 million to the Election Commission and had manipulated the election results in its favor. The Commission had written to the police for investigation on the same issue and arrested him and recorded his statement.
What was the allegation?
In a video made public a few days ago, Prasai had claimed that the results had been manipulated by the officials of the Commission by taking a large sum of money, linking the internal dispute within the Congress and the election context.
