Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has resigned to contest elections from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

He announced his resignation through a special press conference this evening. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has accepted Kharel's resignation.

He resigned after being nominated as a candidate from Lalitpur-2 by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Earlier, Sports Minister Bablu Gupta had also resigned. Kharel resigned today as he had to file his candidacy for the House of Representatives on Magh 6.
