Kantipur journalist Seema Tamang has been honored with the 'Ippan Journal Award 2082'.

The Independent Power Producers Association (IPPAN) honored Tamang with the award on the occasion of its 26th anniversary. Tamang, who works for the Kantipur Media Group, writes on hydropower and other economic issues.

‘On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Independent Power Producers Association (IPPAN), I have been honored with the ‘IPPAN Journal Award 2082’ along with a certificate of appreciation for my contribution to the development of this sector in Nepal through energy journalism by providing excellent news coverage in the energy sector,’ the award letter states.

IPPPAN started giving the award this year. Along with Tamang, Milan Bishwakarma, who works for Naya Patrika, has also been honored with the award. The amount of the award is 51 thousand rupees each.

IPPPAN has stated that the award will now be given every year.
