The Gen-G martyr family is currently protesting in front of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers' Office, Singha Durbar, with black bands on their heads.
They are protesting because the government has not implemented the decision. Their main demand is that the decision of the Council of Ministers to provide monthly subsistence allowance be implemented immediately.
Roshan Gautam, secretary of the Gen-G Shaheed Parivar Kalyankari Samaj Samiti, says that after running to various ministries, they were forced to sit on a dharna at the Prime Minister's Office. 'We just ran from ministry to ministry. We decided to sit on a dharna at the Prime Minister's Office after we had to carry files,' he said.
About 20 members of the martyrs' families are participating in the dharna. They complain that even though the Council of Ministers has decided, the legal process for releasing the subsistence allowance has not been initiated yet.
The martyrs' families have warned that they will intensify their agitation if the decision is not implemented immediately.
