Newly elected President of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has appealed to everyone to move forward unitedly within the party.

As soon as the Election Commission officially recognized Thapa, who was elected as the president of the Nepali Congress at its second general convention, he issued a statement on Friday, appealing to party leaders and cadres to move forward unitedly. 'The laws, statutes and procedures have been established in the Nepali Congress, the special general convention was not a matter of dispute, the Election Commission has taken a decision in accordance with the constitution, prevailing laws and the party's statute, we are grateful for this,'  he said. 

He mentioned that it is the common result of the sincere efforts made by Congress members and well-wishers for meaningful changes in the Nepali Congress and the progress of the country. President Thapa said, 'The party runs and becomes not only due to the wishes of the leaders but also due to the wishes of the general members. Now the Congress has returned to its roots, its values ​​and ideals.' He told everyone who participated in the special general convention and those who did not, that the laws and statutes have primacy and that victory or defeat is not a matter of victory or defeat. 

'Let's not get confused, let's all be calm, be responsible, stay united, have faith and trust. President Thapa said that from today there will be no factions and divisions within the party. He said that the Congress will move forward in line with the expectations of the Nepali people and the aspirations of the young people for change.
