The number of birds found in the Narayani River and its surrounding areas has increased. According to the Asian Waterfowl Census conducted two days ago, more birds have been found in the Narayani River and its surrounding areas in the western sector of Chitwan National Park than last year.

According to DB Chaudhary, coordinator of the waterbird census in the western sector and conservationist, 12,887 birds of 42 species have been found in the Narayani River this time. Two days ago, a team of 50 experts divided into different groups conducted a bird census in the Narayani River and its surrounding areas.

Chaudhary said that in the waterbird census conducted based on 5 locations from the southern main branch of the Narayani River, Sikhauli, Kujauli, Pithauli, Amaltari and Baghuvan, 3,339 more birds were found than last year.

In the western region of Narayani from Amaltari to Baghuvan, 794 birds of 26 species were found, 4,385 of 29 species were found between Pithauli and Amaltari, and 3,500 waterbirds of 30 species were found in the Kujauli-Pithauli section.

According to conservationist Chaudhary, 41 species of birds were found in the Narayani River and its vicinity in the western part of the park during the waterfowl census of 2080 and 2081. The waterfowl census is conducted every year in the second and third weeks of the month of Poush.
