The National Independent Party (NISP) Rukum West has finalized its direct candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives elections. Man Bahadur Shahi, who is also the party's district president, has been recommended as the candidate.
District Vice-President Rim Bahadur Sharma said that the district working committee meeting held on Wednesday recommended Shahi's name.
"Our party has decided to put forward Shahi, an engineer by profession, as a candidate. Now we will go door-to-door to seek votes within the code of conduct," he said.
Other parties active in the district, including the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Nepali Communist Party and CPN-Maoist, have already recommended candidates.
