Question from Bishwaprakash Sharma - Is it wrong to say that we should unite the Congress and go to the elections?

Congress special general convention supporter Bishwaprakash Sharma has said that it was not wrong to ask Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to step down from the leadership to unite the party.

Addressing the special general convention hall being held at Bhrikutimandap, he said that he had heard the news that he was being taken into action while proposing to form a strong Congress based on rules.

‘The Congress should go into the upcoming elections as one. Is it wrong to say that the entire Congress will go into the elections as one when the president leaves? Is it wrong for the Nepali Congress to field candidates in 165 places without joining hands with other parties?’ He questioned the Deuba faction, ‘You said that the Congress should stand in 165 places and vote under the tree symbol in the upcoming elections. Is it wrong to say that we should declare the Prime Minister’s candidate and go? Should we take action instead of forming a Congress and making rules?’

Sharma said that whatever the hall decides now will be the party’s decision. He referred to the decision taken by the Deuba faction to take action against them, and said, ‘They did what they wanted. The rest will be done by this hall. Whatever the hall decides will be the decision of the Nepali Congress.’

He also claimed that he would raise the Nepali Congress from the current situation.
