The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has finally recommended the name of Parmanand Bhatta from Baitadi for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.

Although it was decided to recommend the names of Parmananda Bhatta and Narendra Kunwar (Vijayasundar) earlier, both candidates met with the party's central leaders and discussed the matter, making Bhatta the unanimous candidate for the House of Representatives from Baitadi, informed NCP Baitadi leader Laxmi Dutta Joshi.

Bhatta was previously affiliated with the Unified Socialist Party, while Kunwar was affiliated with the CPN Maoist Center. Kunwar had previously contested the election as a member of the House of Representatives from Baitadi from a coalition of the Nepali Congress and the Maoists. He was defeated by UML's Damodar Bhandari in the election.

Bhatta, who is also the chairman of the District Development Committee, is considered a strong candidate in Baitadi. He is also the founding leader of UML Baitadi.
