After being defeated for the post of mayor of Dakneshwari Municipality, he joined the then Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Saptari-3, and also became the Minister of State for Water Resources, Energy and Irrigation.
Chandrakant Chaudhary, an executive member of the Rastriya Mukti Party, Nepal and former Minister of State, passed away on Saturday. He passed away at the age of 78 at his residence in Dakneshwari Municipality-5, Pato, in the district.
Born in 2004, he served as the then Pradhan Panch for a long time. Joining the Nepali Congress Party since 2046, he contested the local elections in 2074 as an independent candidate after not getting a ticket.
After being defeated for the post of mayor of Dakneshwari Municipality, he joined the then Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) Nepal. He was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Saptari-3 from the same party and also became the Minister of State for Water Resources, Energy and Irrigation.
The late Chaudhary, who donated his ancestral land for the schools, municipal offices, and markets in the area, has two sons and a daughter. His cremation will be held on Sunday, according to his family.
