Vijayanand elected as MCHAM president

Kailash Vijayananda has been elected as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AMCHAM). The fourth annual general meeting of AMCHAM Nepal held in Kathmandu elected a new executive committee.

 

Vijayananda is the CEO of global tech company LeapFrog. LeapFrog Technology has been serving Nepal, India, the UK, Switzerland, Canada and the US for nearly two decades.  Vijayananda, who started his career as a programmer, has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Portsmouth. 

The board members of the executive committee are Aakash Golchha of Ford Company, Manish Thapa of Juno Company, Samrath Mogha of Mogha Energy, Sneh Rajbhandari of Bottlers Nepal, Suraksha Hamal of Pathao Nepal, and Sachin Karanjit of Deer Hold.  Founding Presidents of MICHAM Nepal Ajit Bikram Shah, Semant Dahal and outgoing President Nirmal Kaji Shrestha have also been elected as board members. 

U.S. Ambassador Dean R. Thompson highlighted the strong partnership between the U.S. Embassy Nepal and MCHAM Nepal in promoting trade, investment, and a transparent and predictable business environment. He highlighted the transformative opportunities that the MCC Nepal Compact creates for U.S. and Nepali companies and the continued entry of U.S. companies into the Nepali market.

Amirraj Thapa, Executive Director of MCHAM Nepal, presented the Board’s report at the event. The meeting approved the Board’s report and the company’s financial report.
