The Nepali Congress District Working Committee, Kaski, has called on its representatives to actively participate in the party's upcoming special general convention.

The Kaski Congress has appealed to its elected representatives to attend the general convention to be held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu on December 10 and 11, saying that it will be decisive in the history of the party.

Issuing a statement on Thursday, Kaski Congress President Kishore Dutt Baral said that this general convention will be historic for the country's contemporary political challenges and the internal strengthening of the party. The statement stated that the time has come to take serious decisions about the party's ideological clarity, organizational unity and internal democracy.

'The Nepali Congress is not just a political organization, it is the cornerstone of democracy, inclusiveness and national unity,' the statement said. 'At such a historic moment, your participation is not just a formal presence, but a duty directly linked to the future of the party and the guidelines of the nation.'

President Baral said that only with the active and responsible presence of all the representatives of the general convention can the Nepali Congress be made stronger, more credible and people-oriented. ‘We have urged all the representatives elected from Kaski to play an active role in protecting democracy and the party’s strong future,’ he said. He has reached Kathmandu to participate in the special general convention.

According to Kaski Congress Secretary Bhanu Dhakal, 61 of the 78 general convention representatives from Kaski had signed in favor of the special general convention. Among them, Milan Thapa has joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The number of signatories may increase by 26th Poush, Dhakal said.

Representatives in favor of the special general convention are preparing to reach Kathmandu by 26th Poush, he informed. Of the three in Kaski, Rajendra Mani Lamichhane, President of Constituency No. 1, and Keshar Prasad Brinshi, President of Constituency No. 2, are also in favor of the special general convention.
