Nineteen general convention delegates, led by Congress Jumla Vice President Karma Budha, are heading to Kathmandu for the special general convention. They reserved a vehicle on Thursday and headed for Kathmandu.

According to Vice President Budha, there are 26 general convention delegates in Jumla. 19 of them had already signed demanding a special general convention.

Now, a team including Jumla Province (A) President Lachhiman Bohora, Province (B) Acting President Kali Bahadur Budha, District Working Committee Secretary Arjun Singh Kathayat and others left on Thursday. Out of the 26 delegates, 19 of them signed in favor of a special general convention and left with a reserved vehicle.

General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma have formally called for a special general convention on 27-28 Poush to return the party to its laws, statutes and political dynamics.

On the other hand, the central office, on the instructions of the leadership, has issued a warning statement saying that the authority to call a special general convention lies solely with the Central Working Committee.
