Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has visited the Madhesi Commission and Muslim Commission in Lalitpur and met with the commission officials and discussed current issues.

Minister Aryal was welcomed by the acting chairman of the Muslim Commission in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, Mahamdin Ali and other officials of the Commission, and by the acting chairman of the Commission, Jeevachh Sah and other officials of the Commission, at the Madhesi Commission in Jwagal.

The discussion focused on the incidents of communal intolerance that have surfaced in some districts of Terai Madhesh in recent days. Similarly, the officials of the Commission also informed Minister Aryal about the work, duties, and rights of both the Commissions, which are provided for as constitutional bodies by the Constitution, the problems faced by the Commission, and the expectations of the Commission from the government.

During the discussion, Minister Aryal openly praised the joint appeal issued by the Madhesi, Tharu, and Muslim Commissions to maintain mutual harmony among religious communities. Stating that such problems seen in recent days have been resolved with the cooperation of civil society and the commissions, which are also civil society, Minister Aryal expected everyone to play a positive role in preventing such incidents from recurring and maintaining peace and harmony in the society.

Similarly, the Ministry of Home Affairs has shown its proactiveness in maintaining social harmony by addressing the latest developments in a timely manner and taking action against those involved in illegal activities, conducting coordination meetings with stakeholders, holding goodwill rallies, tightening checks, and forming peace and social harmony committees.

Home Minister Aryal assured the Commission that the government is always ready to provide necessary support and also expected the Commission to draw the attention of the Government of Nepal and provide advice and suggestions on certain issues as required.

Stating that action will be taken against anyone who tries to disturb or disturbs religious and social tolerance, Minister Aryal also requested the commissions, which are the guardians of conscience, to carry out necessary programs on behalf of the commission for a long-term solution to such problems by spreading public awareness in the context of maintaining religious and social tolerance.

During the discussion, Acting Chairman of the Madhesi Commission, Jivachh Sah, said that the Madhesi Commission is a commission of the entire Madhesi community rather than a specific religion. Similarly, Acting Chairman of the Muslim Commission, Mahamdin Ali, expressed the commitment of the commission to always play the necessary positive role in maintaining religious and social harmony in the society.
