Flights at Tribhuvan International Airport have been affected due to a plume of smoke following a fire at a timber warehouse in Sinamangal.

A Civil Aviation Authority official said that all domestic and international flights have been suspended after the smoke from a warehouse fire on Tuesday afternoon spread to the airport. 'Flights will be affected until the smoke is cleared,' he said.

A police team was mobilized to the scene of the fire as soon as the information was received, said SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu. The cause of the fire and details of the damage are yet to be revealed.
