The Supreme Court has made public the full text of its verdict in the case related to the first dissolution of the House of Representatives by the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The full text of the verdict, which was prepared a few years ago and was not made public, was held up after the then Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra, who headed the constitutional bench, refused to sign it. Jabra had only recently signed the verdict.
The court made the full text of the verdict public on Tuesday. The then Justice Anil Kumar Sinha wrote the 142-page opinion of the verdict.
Jabra was suspended after an impeachment motion was filed against him in the House of Representatives. Earlier, judges and legal professionals of the Supreme Court had opposed it.
He retired while suspended due to the impeachment motion, citing the fact that his pension certificate had not been issued.
