To defuse the tension caused by the ongoing protests and maintain harmony, an all-party meeting held at the District Administration Office, Parsa on Tuesday urged all stakeholders not to hold demonstrations, protests and gatherings without the permission of the local administration.
The meeting, led by Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal, decided that permission must be obtained from the district administration if any kind of demonstration or protest is to be held in Birgunj in the future. It has been decided that the concerned party will have to submit a memorandum to the Chief District Officer before taking permission and only then will the program be allowed to be conducted.
The meeting also decided to form a permanent harmony mechanism to control activities that disrupt social or harmony and to recommend necessary legal action. The mechanism will include locals Ranjit Sah, Ranjan Singh, Mohammad Mahbub Ali (Sheru) and Ali Asgar Madani.
