Surendra Basnet, Executive Vice President of the National Youth Council, has released a 35-point white paper detailing the work done during his four-year tenure.

At a press conference organized at the council on Sunday, Vice President Basnet also released a 35-point white paper detailing the achievements made during his four-year tenure. Stating that he was able to work for the entire term despite the change of four prime ministers and five youth and sports ministers during his four-year tenure, he said that during this period, a model parliamentary exercise was conducted for the leadership development of more than 10,000 youth, and a National Youth Policy 2082 was issued. 

He said that during his tenure, 390 hours of free employment-oriented skill development training for youth, a model United Nations exercise, and other programs were started. After the press conference, the employees bid farewell to Vice President Basnet at a farewell program organized by the council today. 

According to the National Youth Council Act-2072 under the Government of Nepal, Basnet was appointed as the executive chief of the council on 21 Poush 2078 by the decision of the then Council of Ministers.
