The National Independent Party has approved 26 people as central members, including Balendra Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the party's declared candidate for Prime Minister after the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
Spokesperson Manish Jha informed that the second meeting of the central committee held on Sunday evening approved 26 people, including Shah, as central committee members. 'This meeting has approved 26 people, including Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah, as central committee members,' Jha said.
Those who became central members in this way have taken oath before President Ravi Lamichhane. On Poush 13, there was an agreement between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Balendra Shah to move forward unitedly. According to the same agreement, it was agreed to make Balendra the prime minister if he gets a majority after the upcoming elections.
