Necessary preparations have begun to resume operations at Bhadrapur Airport, which was closed after the Buddha Air plane crash.

According to Airport Chief Kishore Kumar Khatri, discussions are underway to reopen the airport for flights and landings in coordination with the technical team. ``Continuous coordination is underway with the technical team. Even though the runway is only this long, we are discussing options to operate the airport,'' he said.

The crashed plane has not been removed from the scene yet. On Friday night, at around 8:20,  The Buddha Air plane skidded off the runway during landing and crashed. Kathmandu-Bhadrapur flight number 901 had reached the grass area due to an overrun.  The plane had taken off from Kathmandu with 51 passengers.  The plane was scheduled to stay here overnight  and return to Kathmandu on the first flight on Saturday morning.
