The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to include the names of people with disabilities in the closed list of proportional representation for the House of Representatives elections.

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order on a writ petition filed by Madhav Chamlagain. A bench of Justices Hari Phuyal and Tek Prasad Dhungana has ordered the Election Commission to correct and include the names of persons with disabilities in the closed list if any party has not included them.

The Supreme Court has asked the parties to include persons with disabilities within that period as the time for revision is till 27th of December. The Commission has stated that the closed list prepared by the parties will be examined from 28th of December to 3rd of January. The final list will be published on 20th of January.
