A Buddha Air plane crashed while landing at Bhadrapur Airport on Friday night. The plane skidded off the runway when the brakes suddenly failed as it was about to land.
According to the passengers, even though everyone was scared at the time of the accident, they bravely saved their lives. ‘If the door (window) had not been broken, we would have been crushed inside and died,’ said Baldev Gomden, the mayor of Arjundhara Municipality, a passenger on the plane. ‘We all jumped out and saved our lives.’
All 51 passengers on the plane have been safely evacuated in the incident. The administration and police team have immediately taken the passengers to a safe place.
Many passengers experienced fear and panic during the landing. Chief District Officer Shivaram Gelal said that the condition of the plane and the runway are being examined at the scene.
