Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal met Dr. Nicholas Bhusal, who is on hunger strike, at Bir Hospital on Wednesday night.

Minister Aryal had reached Bir Hospital immediately after returning from the provincial-level security seminar held in Biratnagar. Expressing his commitment that all reasonable demands would be addressed, he urged Bhusal to end his hunger strike.

Bhusal had started a hunger strike at Maitighar since December 20, saying that the demands of the Gen-G movement had not been met. He said that he was on hunger strike to complete the revolution and make it clear to the people that the Gen-G movement had ended incompletely.

He is demanding that those responsible for the murders committed during the Gen-G movement be taken to court, those arrested during the Gen-G movement be released, corruption be investigated and action taken against the guilty. Similarly, he is demanding that the constitution be amended to give voting rights to Nepalis living abroad, the provision of a directly elected executive prime minister, the abolition of the provincial and national assemblies, and the resignation of the prime minister and home minister.

Bhusal was taken from Maitighar to Bir Hospital on Wednesday for treatment after showing health problems.
