Commemorating the day on 11 Poush 2051, when social security allowances were started to be distributed to senior citizens, the National Senior Citizens Day has been started as per the government's decision.
This year too, with the motto 'Our Common Campaign: Respect and Respect for Senior Citizens', President Poudel recalled that this day is being celebrated by organizing various programs to protect the rights, interests, and privileges of senior citizens and promote respect, protection, and participation.
