Saurabh Koirala from Nareshwor, Gorkha, is an architectural engineer by profession, but he has achieved the best results in MA Sociology from Tribhuvan University. He achieved the best result with a GPA of 3.70 from the MA Sociology Central Department.
‘When designing/planning, you have to understand society. I felt it was necessary to study in a socially appropriate manner,’ he said, ‘I chose sociology because I wanted to understand society. Now I work to connect society with engineering.’
Saurabh was good at studies right from school. He did SEE from Vindhyabasini Community School with 80 percent marks. After passing SEE in 2067, he got a scholarship and enrolled in science. After completing grade 12, he graduated in architectural engineering from Thapathali Engineering College.
‘I studied sociology full-time while working as an engineer part-time. As I was working, the question of how to connect society with engineering arose,’ he said. He said that his goal was to live in the country and focus on study and research in these two fields.

He suggests that if you study any subject deeply, you will achieve the success you dream of. ‘There is no special way to study. You have to study according to the syllabus. If you study thoroughly and deeply, your marks will also be excellent,’ he said.
He also said that he wants to help government service and government-related work by doing research. ‘I want to work in the research field - by combining sociology and engineering. I am thinking of doing government service and government-related work,’ Saurabh said.
