The bench of District Court Kathmandu Judge Ram Chandra Khadka has demanded a bail of Rs 600,000 from former Secretary Arjun Kumar Karki and Rs 100,000 from former Joint Secretary Lekh Bahadur Karki.

A fraud case was registered in the District Court Kathmandu alleging that there was bad faith in the decision of Nepal Trust to lease 1 ropani 14 aana land at Durbarmarg.

The Government Attorney's Office had registered a case against the then Secretary of the Trust Arjun Kumar Karki, Joint Secretary Lekh Bahadur Karki, Thamserku Trekking Pvt. Ltd. and its Chairman Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa on Wednesday.

Police had arrested former Joint Secretary Lekh Bahadur Karki on 21 Kartik and former Secretary Arjun Karki on 30 Kartik.

The chargesheet, prepared on the basis of an investigation report with the opinion of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police, claims that ‘the trust’s property was leased/contracted to a private company in a controversial manner, causing huge losses to the government and the trust.’
