CPN-UML leader Ain Mahar, who is facing charges under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063, has been released on bail of one hundred thousand rupees.
The Kathmandu District Court had charged Mahar with an offence under Section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act and had sought a bail of Rs 100,000. Accordingly, Mahar was released from the court after posting bail. The bench of Judge Umanath Gautam had ordered the bail.
However, Mahar's wife Anuja Shrestha has been arrested by the police deployed from the Cyber Bureau for the same offence. Rashmila Bam had filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau against the Mahar couple under Section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063.
