The Ministry of Labor has said that the problems seen in the health screening of workers will be resolved through policy and legal reforms as suggested by an expert team.
The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security has stated that arrangements are being made for health screening of workers going for foreign employment based on the recommendations given by a group of health experts.
"There is a challenge to make the health condition of Nepali citizens going for foreign employment safe, manageable and dignified," said Labor Secretary Krishnahari Pushkar, addressing a health camp organized by the Nepal Federation of Health Professionals, Nepal Medical Professionals Association and GAMKA Nepal on the occasion of Immigration Day. "To manage it through testing, we have been making many policy-level, legal and technical arrangements as per the recommendations given by the expert team headed by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health under the Ministry of Labor."
According to him, the management of health testing is established by addressing the directives from the government leadership, international laws, national needs and the feelings of workers. "That is why changes that occur from time to time are a natural process of policy changes," he said. "No one should face any kind of injustice or suffering due to policy changes. The government is aware that no one should be exploited financially."
He said that the problems seen in health testing will be solved by sitting at one table. "I express my commitment to move forward by collaborating to think, invest, and secure the returns on workers' rights and benefits as the main focus," he said.
