Flights at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa have been affected after the weather did not open due to thick fog.

As a result, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) President Ravi Lamichhane, who was supposed to arrive in Rupandehi on Friday morning, has been detained at Tribhuvan Airport in Kathmandu.

Security arrangements in Bhairahawa have been tightened as Lamichhane is being brought to Bhairahawa. Lamichhane's personal secretary Abinash Acharya said that although flights/landings at Bhairahawa Airport have been affected, they have not considered air travel options as it has not been closed.

Lamichhane had to appear at the district court to submit documents to be released, so he was scheduled to come to Bhairahawa.

A bench of Justices Vasudev Acharya and Tej Narayan Poudel of the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court had overturned the district court's order of August 26 and ordered Lamichhane to be released on Thursday with a bank guarantee equal to Bigo. Lamichhane was currently being held in Nakkhu Jail in Lalitpur.

Although preparations were made to bring him to Rupandehi on Friday morning for the release process, the High Court said that due to bad weather, the original file of the order was sent to the district court at 10 am on Friday.

According to the High Court, if Bigo's guarantee and later the court's decision is accepted, Bigo's guarantee and later if additional liability is created, the document will be submitted and released.
