There has been a clash between prisoners in the prison here. Eight prisoners have been injured in the clash. According to the prison administration, the clash took place between a group of guards, guards and other prisoners.

According to the police, Kiran Singh, Dinesh Kunwar, Karan Kunwar, and Rajendra Sunar were seriously injured in the clash. They have been taken to the Mahakali Provincial Hospital for treatment. Similarly, Sandeep Bhandari, Madan Giri, Janak Khadka, and Roshan Shahi were also injured. They have not been taken to the hospital as they have minor injuries. All the injured are from the Naike Prakash Malla faction. They are watchmen and guards.
According to jailer Bandana Subedi, the prisoners have accused the watchmen and guards of not providing food on time, not providing various allowances, and not even providing the clothes they receive according to the season. Similarly, it has been alleged that prisoners are being charged money to submit their petitions to the prison administration.
‘Only the watchmen and the guards have the right to visit the prison administration, they are the ones who can bring the prisoners’ applications to the administration,’ said Jailer Subedi, ‘but some prisoners have complained that they have to pay money to deliver the application to the administration.’
According to her, prisoners have to apply for things like going to court or for other work, or for those who have less than a year of imprisonment remaining, including paying money to buy their prison sentences. But it has been found that the watchmen and guards charge up to 15-20 thousand for these applications.
The prisoners are shouting slogans demanding that the watchmen and guards be transferred and that they be made to work.
The prisoners are supposed to be given 700 grams of rice daily, an allowance of 80 rupees, and an allowance for one pair of clothes each in winter and summer. But it has been found that the guards and watchmen do not even pay this allowance.
The prison, which has a capacity to hold 140 prisoners, currently houses 384 prisoners, including 17 women.
