The government has accelerated the process of classifying those injured in the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24.

The classification of the injured has gained momentum with the approval of the Council of Ministers on November 22 of the working procedure prepared to provide financial assistance and livelihood to the injured persons injured during the Gen-G movement and demonstrations based on the condition and severity of their disabilities. According to the working procedure, a technical committee under the coordination of the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health will be formed to classify the injured persons on the basis of their disabilities, and the committee has made arrangements to classify the injured as ordinary, moderate, serious and very serious. Among the injured persons classified in the

classification, the serious ones will receive a monthly livelihood allowance of 9 thousand rupees and the very serious ones will receive a monthly livelihood allowance of 18 thousand rupees. Similarly, according to the working procedure, the working procedure provides for the provision of a monthly allowance of 4 thousand rupees for those injured in moderate nature. The classification of injured people under the coordination of the Ministry of Health and Population has been completed so far for 183 people from three districts (Kathmandu, Kaski and Chitwan). Out of the classification, a total of 18 people have been classified as very seriously injured, 55 as seriously injured, 40 as moderately injured and 70 as lightly injured. Out of a total of 169 injured people classified in Kathmandu, 16 have been classified as very seriously injured, 52 as seriously injured, 37 as moderately injured and 64 as lightly injured. Similarly, out of the 7 injured people classified so far in Kaski, two have been classified as very seriously, three as seriously injured, zero as moderately injured and two as lightly injured. Similarly, out of a total of 7 injured people classified in Chitwan, none have been classified as very seriously or seriously injured and three and four have been classified as moderately and lightly injured respectively.

The Facilitation Committee has stated that work has been progressing as per Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal's instructions to the relevant bodies to expedite the classification of the injured.

According to the details of the injured received by the Ministry of Health from various hospitals, the total number of injured across the country is 2,522. There is no provision in the working procedure for the general injured to receive any such cash relief.

The way was opened for providing monthly livelihood allowance to the injured under Section 8 of the 'Working Procedure for Providing Relief Assistance to Persons Injured in the Gen-G Protests-2082' passed by the Council of Ministers on Mangsir 22.

The working procedure itself mentions that the arrangement related to subsistence allowance can be reviewed on the basis of inflation as per Sub-Section 2 (1) of the working procedure.
