The hearing of the case of National Independent Party President Ravi Lamichhane and former DIG and then Gorkha Media owner Chhabilal Joshi has concluded.
The High Court has stated that the order will be issued shortly. The hearing was held in the bench of Chief Justice Vasudev Acharya and Justice Tej Narayan Poudel of the Tulsipur High Court, Butwal, at Bench No. 1.
Earlier, the hearing scheduled for Mangsir 25 was postponed due to the fact that it was ‘unwatchable’. Before that, the hearing scheduled for Mangsir 11 was postponed at the request of Lamichhane’s legal practitioner.
The hearing of the case filed against the district court’s order allowing Lamichhane and Joshi to pay an amount equal to the amount of the fine and stay out of custody was scheduled for that bench, informed the court’s information officer Ram Bahadur Kunwar.
Thursday's hearing of the case of Lamichhane and Joshi, who are in custody on charges of fraud and organized crime at the Supreme Cooperative Society in Butwal, is the seventh consecutive hearing since October 13. During this period, the hearing has been postponed twice by Lamichhane and once by Joshi.
According to the law, both the parties and the opposition can postpone the hearing twice in a case. However, the government side has not postponed the hearing in this case.
