Why did Indian security personnel come to Nepali soil?

A video has gone public showing Indian security personnel carrying weapons patrolling Nepali territory in Saptari. In the video, a team of five people led by SSB (Side Security Force) ASI (Assistant Sub-Inspector) Tsering Norbo is seen on the main road of the Rajbiraj Customs Office.

According to a video posted on social media on Monday evening, Assistant Sub-Inspector Norbo is carrying a weapon, while four other security personnel are carrying sticks.

There is a checkpoint to enter Nepal 500 meters to the east from there, and Border Out Post (BOP) Tilathi is 300 meters to the west. A joint team of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police has been deployed in front of the Rajbiraj Customs Office 200 meters from there for inspection. However, it is said that they were unaware when the Indian security personnel entered Nepal carrying weapons on Monday afternoon.

Armed Police Inspector Jas Bahadur Rai of Border Out Post (BOP) Tilathi said that the Indian security personnel, who were passing through Dasgaja on the Indian side, only used the bridge on the Nepal side to cross the river.

‘Since morning, we had jointly cleared the piles of straw, straw and firewood piled up in ten yards on the Indian side,’ he said. ‘Although it is not allowed to enter Nepali land carrying weapons as per the law, in practice they only used the bridge to return to India.’

However, Armed Police Inspector Rai admitted that he had not informed the police about the incident while carrying weapons. Chief District Officer Tubaraj Pokharel said that he would inquire with the police about the matter.
