Newly appointed Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Prakash Kumar Shrestha, and member Suniti Shrestha (Hada) have taken the oath of office and secrecy.
During a program organized on Tuesday, Vice Chairman Shrestha took the oath before Commission Chairperson and Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
Immediately after that, Member Hada took the oath before Vice Chairman Shrestha in the presence of Prime Minister Karki.
Planning Commission Member and Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal, Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office Rajkumar Shrestha, Secretary to the Commission Ravilal Pantha and other high government officials were present at the program.
After the oath, Prime Minister Karki congratulated the newly appointed Vice Chairman and members and wished them a successful tenure.
He instructed them to study the current situation of the country thoroughly and prepare plans as per the aspirations of Gen-G youth.
'We have given you this responsibility as experts,' said Prime Minister Karki, 'You are aware of the current situation of the country. We will have to take steps after understanding this situation. The country's plans and programs should also be formulated in accordance with the spirit of the youth's movement for change. We should study the current situation thoroughly and work in a way that will raise the country's reputation. I hope you will be successful in this task.’
