Kishor Shrestha, Editor-in-Chief of the 'Jana Aastha' weekly and Vice-President of the World Press Council, will be awarded this year's 'Devendra Gautam Journalism Award'.
The award will be presented on the birth anniversary of the late journalist Gautam (February 13). Shrestha will be given the 'Devendra Gautam Journalism Award-2026' in recognition of his hard work and long-term contribution to Nepali journalism.
Gautam was the chairman of Current Media and Research Center. The award was given on the memorial day at the initiative of Gautam's wife Pradeepa Gautam. From this year, it has been given on his birthday.
Shrestha is a person known for investigative journalism. The Gautam family believes that his long-term contribution has made Nepali journalism strong and robust. The award amount, including a certificate, is one hundred thousand rupees.
Technician Hari Bahadur Thapa Magar, who has been continuously contributing to Current Publication for more than 35 years, will also be given the 'Devendra Gautam Journalism Award-2026', the amount of which is 50 thousand.
