Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has said that ethnic and linguistic diversity is the asset of Nepal. Speaking at a program organized by the Indigenous Peoples' Upliftment Foundation at Singha Durbar on Sunday, Minister Khanal said that diversity in cultural, linguistic and economic activities is essential for making the country prosperous.

He also said that the diversity is not being utilized properly. He also said that some castes have not been recognized yet.

‘Racial diversity, linguistic diversity are the assets of Nepal. We should consider it a responsibility. No one should feel uncomfortable with it. This means that the diversity of our cultural, linguistic, and economic activities is very necessary for the prosperity of Mulu. We have not been able to mobilize it properly. In some cases, proportional representation is not being achieved. We have not been able to recognize some castes yet,’ he said. 

Even though the Adivasi Janajati Utthan Pratisthan has complained that there is no budget for some work, Finance Minister Khanal has said that he does not have the right to provide budget immediately. He said. If there is no program, the Finance Minister does not have the right to add programs and he argued that additions and subtractions can be made within the existing program. Finance Minister Khanal has said.
