Sunit Prabhag Regmi, 28, of Mahalaxmi-3, Lalitpur, and Ashish Babu Kumal, 28, of Lalitpur-13, have been arrested after the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police found that the details of at least three people had been altered during an investigation.
It has been found that employees of the National Identity Card and Registration Department have made unauthorized changes to the details of individuals in the database.
During the investigation conducted by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), Sunit Prabhag Regmi, 28, of Mahalaxmi-3, Lalitpur, and Ashish Babu Kumal, 28, of Lalitpur-13, have been arrested after it was found that they had altered important details including their date of birth. According to CIB Chief AIG Manoj KC, the investigation was initiated after it was found that they had altered important details including their date of birth. He said that the office had requested the CIB for an investigation after they tried to change their biometric details.
‘It seems that this work was done for some benefit, we are investigating that,’ KC said, ‘We have now started an investigation by obtaining permission from the court to keep them in custody for 5 days for investigation on charges of committing an offense against the National Identity Card and Registration Act, 2076 BS.’
