Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that he is the meeting point between the senior and younger generations within the party.
Leader Koirala said that the current situation has been created because he has been talking about the need to connect the youth to the mainstream of the state in forums within and outside the party for a long time, but his words have not been heard.
Koirala also recalled that since the time of the Covid pandemic, he had been demanding 20 percent representation for the youth at the center, 30 percent at the provincial level, and 40 percent at the local level.
In a meeting with the office bearers and members of the Central Committee of the Democracy Fighters Association at his liaison office in Bishalnagar, Kathmandu, leader Koirala said that the contribution made by the democracy fighters to Nepal's democratic movement will always be highly appreciated.
Stating that the country and the party are at a very difficult juncture, he also clarified that the experience of the fighters is still needed to rebuild the Congress Party. "The party, which was built with the blood and sweat of hundreds of warriors and youth, has now undergone ideological turmoil," Koirala said. "It is necessary to rebuild values, beliefs and loyalty within the party."
Leader Koirala also instructed the fighters who came from each district to prepare for the party's upcoming general convention and general elections.
