The Armed Police Force has repaired and painted around 2,700 pillars that guard the Nepal-India border. Since the fiscal year 2080/81, the Armed Police Force has repaired and painted 2,690 border pillars.

 

A joint meeting of the border task forces of Nepal and India had given the responsibility of maintaining the border pillars to the border security mechanisms of both countries . After that, the armed forces repaired the border pillars during this period . 

According to the information given by the Armed Police Spokesperson Manish Thapa at a press conference on Friday, 2137 pillars were repaired in the fiscal year 2080/81, 498 in 2081/82 and 55 pillars were repaired by Kartik of 2082/83. Spokesperson Thapa informed that 258 main pillars, 662 auxiliary pillars and the remaining small pillars were repaired . India has repaired 925 pillars during this period .

There is a border of about 1,880 km between Nepal and India . The armed forces have mobilized about 10,000 security personnel for border security . Out of which, 250 have been deployed on the border through border outposts .
