The investigation committee formed into the Bardiya incident has begun work, registering the daughter's birth certificate and the mother's death.

According to committee member and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Kulshekhar Aryal, after reaching the spot and understanding the exact details, the birth registration of deceased Anju Tharu's 7-year-old daughter Anita Tharu and the death registration of mother Anju Tharu have been done at the local ward office.

A committee formed to investigate the incident in which a father and daughter lost their lives in Bardiya due to not being granted citizenship has begun work since Wednesday.

According to committee member and Home Ministry Deputy Secretary Kulshekhar Aryal, after reaching the spot and understanding the actual details, the birth registration of deceased Anju Tharu's 7-year-old daughter Anita Tharu and the death registration of deceased Anju Tharu have been done at the local ward office.

'When we understood the overall situation, we realized that the main problem Anju's daughter's birth and death registration were not registered, so that problem has now been resolved,' he said, 'We reached the ward office today and registered Anju's  death and her daughter's birth certificate (in the name of Anju's husband Anil).'

Stating that a case and an arrest warrant have been issued against Anju's husband Anil for abetment to suicide, he said that the Human Rights Commission is also investigating .

All members had reached Badhaiyatal-4 under the leadership of committee coordinator Suresh Panthi. An all-party discussion was held after understanding the overall situation.

Anju Tharu, 21, of Badhaiyatal-4, Dakshin Bhakari, Bardiya, was neglected by her husband and the court had decided to share her share, but she could not get her share due to lack of citizenship. On Mangsir 21, an investigation committee was formed under the coordination of Suresh Panthi, Joint Secretary and Head of Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, with the Ministry's Deputy Secretary Aryal and Bardiya's Assistant CDO Ashok Kumar Bhandari as members. The committee has been given five days to submit its report.
