I did not run for office out of impulse, but to create procedures within the party: Ishwor Pokharel

UML Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel has said that he has not filed his candidacy out of impulse but to create procedures and systems within the party. Pokharel, who is a candidate for the post of president in the upcoming UML general convention, expressed this view while holding a press conference today.

He mentioned that the general convention is a place where ideas are decided and different opinions are put forward, saying, "There is no dispute within the party, but there is no awareness of the shortcomings and shortcomings in the performance of the party. The emphasis is on correcting them."

Pokharel said that there is a problem in the democratization of party life and that he has moved forward to solve it and protect the party from the danger of lack of collective leadership. He also opposed the move to prevent former President Bidya Devi Bhandari from entering party politics, saying that Bhandari's membership should not be stopped.
