The Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations (FNO) has submitted a letter of appeal to Prime Minister Sushila Karki, demanding that the elections be held in a fair and fear-free environment.

During a corner meeting organized at the premises of the National Human Rights Commission on the occasion of the 77th Human Rights Day,  Chairman of the Federation of Nepalese NGOs Arjun Bhattarai handed over a letter to the Prime Minister on behalf of civil society.

He said that civil society has written a letter to the Prime Minister demanding that the elections be held on time in a peaceful, fair and fear-free environment.

He said that the Federation of Nepalese NGOs is also preparing to hand over a letter to the Chief District Officers of all 77 districts on behalf of civil society.

A rally was organized from Lalit Mandap in Lalitpur on Wednesday under the coordination of the Federation with the main slogan “Human Rights: The Indispensable Basis of All of Us”. 

Various organizations and human rights activists participated in the rally organized in collaboration with the Human Rights Mahabhela and the National Human Rights Commission.
