The Department of Foreign Employment arrested 13 middlemen on Wednesday for allegedly defrauding service recipients by offering various enticements within the premises of the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal.

The department has stated that the arrests were made for extorting money from workers and their families who came to the department to fill out online forms, facilitate the labor approval process, and return the defrauded money.

The department has sent the arrested persons to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku for necessary investigation and criminal action.

The department has stated that even when the employees and police team tried to explain to the group, they used abusive language, obstructed the work performance, and displayed indecent behavior.

According to the department, service recipients have been urged to avail services only from the official counters and online systems provided by the department without relying on brokers in any process.
