The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed 67 new officers on Wednesday. Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai congratulated the newly appointed officers by administering their oaths and giving them letters of appointment.

He directed the officers to uphold the highest level of professional integrity and honesty while shouldering their responsibilities in accordance with the guiding principle of putting citizens first.

Secretary Rai mentioned that the role of foreign service officers in protecting and promoting Nepal's national interests in a competitive international environment will be even more important.

With the increasing number of Nepalis abroad, the government faces a challenge in providing consular services in a fast and efficient manner.
