CAN suspends suspended Director General Adhikari, demands Rs 500,000 bail, but he remains in detention

The special court has demanded a bail of Rs 500,000 from suspended Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Pradeep Adhikari.

The order has been issued to seek bail from the official after a lengthy hearing in the corruption case of the construction of the Pokhara International Airport. The bench of Special Court Judges Sudarshan Dev Bhatta and Dilli Ratna Shrestha has sought bail.

Even if the court seeks bail, Adhikari will remain in custody. Earlier, an order was issued to send Adhikari to custody for trial in the corruption case of the construction of the heliport at Nalinchok in Bhaktapur. He will remain in custody based on the same order.

Similarly, the Special Court has also sought bail of Rs 100,000 from former CAN director Murari Bhandari.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case against him and 55 others alleging corruption at the Pokhara Airport.
