Durga Prasai, the leader of the 'Maha Abhiyan to Protect Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens', has said that Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal have heard his demands and said that he is carrying the demands that the communists should carry. He said that if their demands are not met, there will be a public uprising and there will be no elections on Falgun 21.
In a conversation with reporters after the talks at Singha Durbar, he said that this system is not right at all.
'Today, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister listened to our demands well. Your demands are for people's livelihood. These demands are demands that the communists will carry. But the communists earned billions of rupees by building this ladder. If I were in that place, I would have called the Chief Secretary and said, "After studying everything, I will discuss it and give a decision on Poush 2. You have said that I will give a decision as you have said," he said.
He also argued that Education Minister Mahavir Pun was not aware of the loan waiver he had put forward, arguing that this was a matter for the Prime Minister. He claimed that he was committed to waiving loans below Rs 2 million. He also said that he should be in the government for that.
