Padam Adhikari, who was absconding on charges of raping and murdering 13-year-old Anshu Gautam of Fadani, Letang Municipality-2, Morang, has been arrested after two months.

The police have stated that Adhikari, known locally as 'Bichari', killed her with a sickle and a khukuri after raping her. The arrested Adhikari has confessed to the police that he killed her after raping her. 

Adhikari had fled to Tinsukia, Assam, India, shortly after the incident. He returned home last Friday after contacting his family by phone and was arrested by the police on the same occasion. 

Anshu's father Naveen Gautam had filed a complaint against Adhikari. The District Police Office, Morang, is preparing to make the arrested Adhikari public at 10:30 am on Sunday.

Anshu's body, who had left her home on Asoj 21 to play ping pong, was found in the Chisang forest on Kartik 7, 18 days after she went missing.
