The testimony of Civil Aviation Authority Director General Pradeep Adhikari and former Director Murari Bhandari, who are accused of corruption in the construction of a heliport in Nalinchowk, Bhaktapur, has begun at the special court for the remand hearing.

On Wednesday, the CIAA had arrested Adhikari and Bhandari and filed a corruption case against six people. Both of them were arrested and booked in a special court after they reached the CIAA to inquire about the date. The CIAA filed the case in the special court on Wednesday, demanding the recovery of Rs 135,746,213 and 77 paisa in damages and an equal amount in fines. According to the special court, the custodial statements of both the arrested are being made and then the custodial hearing will begin. Adhikari is also accused of irregularities in the construction of the heliport, the construction of the NEA building in Sinamangal, the construction of regional international airports in Pokhara and Bhairahawa, and the purchase of aircraft surveillance technology in Pokhara.
