Free internet access is now available in Kathmandu's Ratna Park. Once established as an area with untidy sidewalks (Shankhadhar Udyan), Ratna Park has been organized and free Wi-Fi service has also been started.

The Greenery Promotion Project under the Metropolitan City is working on providing free Wi-Fi connection in Ratna Park by bringing 6 routers from Nepal Telecom. Suresh Kumar Shrestha, a technician at the Shankhadhar Garden and Ranipokhari unit, says that free internet service will be provided in all places in Ratna Park by Mangsir.

‘Work is underway to provide free Wi-Fi by bringing 6 routers from Nepal Telecom with a capacity of 500 Mbps. Soon, the general public entering Ratna Park will be able to enjoy free internet service while basking in the sun,’ he said.

After the Kathmandu Metropolitan City reconstructed and managed the disorganized Ratna Park at a cost of about 8 million in the fiscal year 2072/73, the face of Ratna Park has changed, and now the number of general public entering Ratna Park has also increased.
